This is when I first started learning watercolor. I bought an expensive book with rough-textured paper that had a great feel to it. During that time, I was also a fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: JoJolion, particularly the character Josuke Higashikata. I decided to draw him on that paper, purely to test the texture and effects of the finished artwork.
